I recall my newest story: Sweetie Belle Finds A Thing getting many more views, favorites, and upvotes then any new story I posted, and much faster to. I thought that played a factor.

Writing a fairly vanilla EqG clop after Coconuts and Sarininining, that is. If, heavens forbid, this shit gets featured and people check my previous fics, they're in for a ride...

... when your story ends up on the twitter account gathering fimfiction's "Hilarious and/or horrifying excerpts from fics, comments, groups, blogs, and more."

Like, seriously.

So as I'm sure any writer on this site can relate, it's obviously the secret goal of any writer to see one of their fics hit the famed feature box on the site's front page. For me, that shows that all my work writing something people can enjoy to read paid off and was accomplished successfully. So apparently even though I still have some mixed feelings about the fact that it of all stories was first to do so, "Overlooked" hitting the feature box seems to have worked to my favor, as it seems to expanded the number of readers likely to read my future works.
